The Israeli army on Thursday killed a 15-year-old boy in a military operation in the West Bank town of Meithalun, located about 26 kilometers from Jenin, amid an increase in incursions by Israeli troops in the West Bank since the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israeli territory.
The Red Crescent has reported that its teams have transported the lifeless body of the minor to the Turkish Hospital in Tubas. Security sources consulted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA have indicated that the Israeli army’s incursion into the city provoked clashes in which two young men were also injured.
Israeli army operations and attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have left more than 570 Palestinians dead since the escalation of such actions since October 7, when the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) carried out an assault that left 1,200 dead and 240 hostages. Palestinian authorities in the Gaza Strip have since counted more than 37,900 dead from Israeli attacks.
