September 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli army confirmed on Wednesday night that it had bombed more than a dozen positions belonging to the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah in southern Lebanon just hours after detecting the launching of 30 rockets into its territory, which caused no casualties.
“Fighter aircraft have attacked more than ten military infrastructures and launch pads of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the areas of Al Yibin, Zutar al Sharqiya and Ramiya, in southern Lebanon, which posed a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel,” the army said.
In addition, the air force also attacked a building in the Hula region, also in the south, after detecting “several terrorists” operating there, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on its social media account X.
Earlier, Israeli authorities activated anti-aircraft alarms after detecting the launching of 30 rockets, which caused a fire in Kfar Blum. Hezbollah militants also launched an anti-tank missile in Kiryat Shmona.
Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and has significant military and political clout in Lebanon, have intensified in recent weeks, following the fighting that erupted after the attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on October 7, raising fears of the possibility of an expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
