MADRID 14 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, held a telephone conversation this Monday with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, in which he took the opportunity to reiterate the global threat posed by Iran, and also urged that Beijing maintain a “balanced position” in the conflict in the Middle East.
“I clarified that Iran is the main cause of destabilization in the Middle East. Iran is a threat, both through its representatives and directly, to the peace of the Middle East and the peace of the entire world,” Katz said on his social networks, where he reviewed the attacks perpetrated or supported by Tehran against Israeli territory.
Thus, the Foreign Minister recalled the missile attack carried out by Iran at the beginning of the month, as well as the Hamas offensive more than a year ago and which was the trigger for the current regional war, or also the attacks carried out by Hezbollah. against northern Israel across the Lebanese border. Both Islamist groups are backed by the Iranian regime.
“We hope that China will express a balanced and fair position regarding the war that was imposed on Israel, which accurately reflects who are the terrorist elements in our region and who is the country that defends itself from the attacks of those terrorist elements,” Katz has pointed out.
Likewise, the Israeli minister has valued the economic cooperation between both countries, which includes mutual trade and the presence of some 20,000 Chinese citizens, “who continued working in Israel during the war.” Finally, Katz and Wang have agreed to deepen their relationship and cooperation to “strengthen the ties” between both countries.
