Israel unleashes one of the most intense bombings on the south of Beirut since the beginning of the invasion

The Israeli Army carries out around thirty night attacks against multiple districts while continuing its ground operations

Oct. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army launched this past night on the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, one of the most intense waves of bombing since the beginning of its invasion of the country with the launch of almost thirty attacks concentrated mainly in the southern districts of the city, considered the stronghold of Hezbollah’s Shiite militias.

The bombings have especially hit the districts of Bourj el Barajné and Ghobeiri, as well as the American neighborhood, Sfeir, Choueifat and Amrousieh. The television studio of the Al Manar network, previously evacuated, and the international airport road, which, despite the intensity of the attacks, have operated relatively normally, would also have been hit.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has not yet provided a balance of these latest attacks and is sticking to its estimates from yesterday: 2,036 dead and 9,662 injured in Israeli attacks against Lebanon since October 8, 2023, the date of the start of clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, established as a “support front” for Hamas.

For his part, the Arabic spokesman for the Israeli Army, Colonel Avichai Adrai, confirmed in the first hours of the bombings several attacks against two buildings, one near the Heliopolis College and the National University of Chuifat and the other near the Mojtaba mosque. Another explosion was heard in Sfeir, near Hadath, and seconds later there was a new explosion in Burj el Brajné. In the case of the first explosion there was no prior warning.

The Israeli warning urged the population to stay at least 500 meters from the places attacked, as in previous attacks by Israeli aircraft in the south of the city. After the aforementioned explosions, Adrai himself has spoken again through the social network Layliki and Haret Hreik.”

“You are close to Hezbollah facilities and interests, against which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will operate in the near future,” he added, reiterating his call to move away from the aforementioned points “at a distance of no less than 500 meters”.

Likewise, the Israeli Army has indicated that, accompanying the bombings, its ground forces have continued their operations in multiple towns near the border with Israel, such as Khiam, Marjayoun, Tebnine, Ain Ebbel, Bint Jbeil, Hasbaya, Yaroun, Madfoun or Beit Yahoun.
