September 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli army has reported that its forces stopped a convoy of United Nations vehicles in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday due to the presence of several “suspicious Palestinians” in one of the vehicles.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement posted on social media site X that they stopped the UN convoy to question the passengers after receiving intelligence information about the presence of “suspicious” Gazans.

He also said the convoy was “not carrying polio vaccines” — in the midst of the vaccination campaign in the Palestinian enclave led by UN agencies — but was part of a “personnel exchange” in the area.

The Gaza authorities, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have raised this Monday to almost 41,000 the number of Palestinians killed by Israel’s military offensive and have estimated at more than 94,800 the number of wounded due to the military operations, unleashed after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamist group and other Palestinian factions.
