3 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
An Israeli warplane shot down an Iranian drone over the Gaza Strip on Monday and confirmed the downing of another Iranian aircraft that entered airspace from Syria on Sunday in airspace controlled by Israel.
Monday’s drone “was identified over the sky over Gaza and the Air Force conducted continuous monitoring until it was shot down,” the Israeli Armed Forces said in a statement collected by The Times of Israel newspaper. In addition, they have stressed that “the flying device did not enter Israeli airspace and did not pose a threat at any time.”
On the other hand, the Armed Forces have confirmed the demolition of a second device, of Iranian origin, which was demolished on Sunday using “special electronic physical means”. The drone was shot down using combat planes and helicopters.
On March 22, Israel shot down a similar aircraft over Gaza using the Iron Dome interception system.
