September 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli army said on Wednesday it had killed two “terrorists” from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), one of them the guard of the deceased soldier Noa Marciano, in two separate operations in the Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defense Forces reported on the social network X that its forces managed to neutralize Abdullah Riela – who was part of Hamas’ Shati battalion – during an airstrike in Gaza City during a joint operation last week with the intelligence service, the Shin Bet.
According to the army, Riela participated in the attacks on October 7 and was later among those responsible for guarding Noa Marciano, 19, who was killed by the militants who were holding her near Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Hamas released a video of Marciano — a member of the 414th Battalion of the Combat Intelligence Corps — speaking to the camera several days after his capture on Oct. 7 at a base in Nahal Oz, after which the group displayed his lifeless body after an Israeli bombardment.
Israeli forces recovered her body last November. A forensic report determined that Noa was indeed injured in an attack, but her life was not in danger. She was subsequently “killed by a Hamas terrorist,” Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said at the time.
The Israeli army has also confirmed that during another joint operation with the Shin Bet, its forces killed Ayman Khaled Ahmed abu Al Yahni in a drone strike. He was involved in the attack on the Erez crossing on October 7.
