Herzog reproaches the international community for “barely lifting a finger” in relation to the confrontation with Hezbollah

The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, rejected this Wednesday the accusations of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, against Western countries for allegedly giving their support to “Israel’s plans to extend the war” to Lebanon, amid the increase in the tensions and clashes between the Israeli Army and the Shiite militia party Hezbollah.
Katz, who has asked Erdogan to “keep quiet”, has accused him of being a “war criminal”, while denying that there is any plan to “expand the armed conflict” in the region, especially in the north.
“Erdogan has lent his support to Hezbollah against Israel. Erdogan is a war criminal who massacres innocent Kurds on the border with Syria and tries to deny Israel its right to self-defense against terrorist organizations attacking from Lebanon on orders from Iran “, he pointed out.
In this sense, he has asked the president of Türkiye to remain silent and stay out of it. “You should be ashamed!” She said in a message broadcast through her account on the social network X.
Erdogan’s words came shortly after the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, stated that Cyprus is “a base of operations” for the offensive launched by Israel against the Gaza Strip and warned of the risk of an expansion of the conflict after the threats made against Nicosia by the leader of Hezbollah, Hasan Nasrallah, for the alleged use of its territory to attack Lebanon.
Israel criticizes the passivity of the international community
On the other hand, the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog, who has been visiting the northern area in recent days, has reproached the international community for “barely lifting a finger” in relation to the conflict with Hezbollah.
“The international community should not be surprised if the situation gets out of control, because the international community barely moves a finger,” he criticized.
“It does almost nothing to contribute to the security of Israeli residents, after repeated violations of international treaties and agreements by Lebanon and Hezbollah,” Herzog protested.
