Israel prohibits the Lebanese population from moving or returning to more than fifty villages after the ceasefire

MADRID Nov. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued this Saturday a new “urgent” order aimed at the Lebanese population, which is prohibited from moving or returning to around fifty villages and neighborhoods “until further notice” despite of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel confirmed on Tuesday by the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

“Urgent declaration to the residents of Lebanon. Until further notice, you are prohibited from moving south to the line of the following villages and their surroundings: Shebaa, Al Habbariyeh, Marjayoun, Arnoun, Yahmar, Al Qantara, Shaqra, Baraashit, Yater, Al Mansouri,” IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichai Adrai announced on his account on the social network X.

Adrai has warned that anyone who crosses the line to the south “is exposed to danger” and has also urged “not to return” to the following neighborhoods: Dahra, Taybeh, Tayri, Naqoura, Abu Shash, Abel Saqi, Al Bayyaada, Al Jebbayn, Al Khraiba, Al Khiam, Khirbet, Al Matmura, Al Mari, Odaisseh, Al Qalaa, Umm Tuta, Salib, Arnoun, Bint Jbeil, Beit Lif, Blida, Bani Hayyan, Al Bustan, Ain Marjayoun Arab, Debbin, Dbaal, Deir Mimas, Deir Siryan, Hula, Halta, Hanine, Tayr Harfa, Yahmar, Yaroun, Yarin, Kfar Hamam, Kfar Kila, Kfarchouba, Al Zaloutieh, Mahbib, Meiss Al Jabal, Maysat, Marjayoun, Marouhin, Maroun al Ras, Markaba, Adshit Al Qusair, Ain Abel, Ainata, Aita al Shaab, Aitaroun, Alma ash Shaab, Arab al Luwaizeh, al Qawzah, Rab Thalatheen, Ramieh, Rmeish, Rashaya al Fakhar, Shebaa and Sheheen.

The military spokesman clarified that the Israeli Army “has no intention of attacking” and, therefore, has urged the population of Lebanon to return “home from this line until further notice.”

The ceasefire agreement came into force at 4:00 a.m. (local time) this Wednesday, following the announcement made on Tuesday by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, that the parties had accepted the proposal conveyed by Washington.

The Israeli Army has stated this Friday that since the outbreak of clashes with the Lebanese Shiite party-militia Hezbollah on October 8, 2023, it has attacked more than 12,500 alleged targets of the group, killing 2,500 alleged members of the group.

On October 1, Israel launched a new invasion of Lebanon after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah on the border, following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023, which left nearly 1,200 dead and 250 kidnapped and led to the Army Israeli to launch a bloody offensive against Gaza that has already left more than 44,300 dead and some 105,000 injured. Lebanon has reported nearly 4,000 deaths from the Israeli attacks.
