MADRID Jan. 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least six Palestinians have died in a bombing carried out this Wednesday by the Israeli Army against the refugee camp in the West Bank city of Jenin, less than 24 hours after it killed six other people, including a minor, in another air attack in the same town.

The Ministry of Health linked to the Palestinian Authority has identified the victims as Mahmud Ahmad Fayad, 22 years old; Osama Abdul Karim abu Drubi and Mustafa Muhamad Fayad, 26 years old; Awad Subhi abu Zaid, 27 years old; Muhammad Yunis Araarawi, 33 years old; and Ahmad Yasin Araarawi, 37 years old.

In addition, according to sources consulted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, two people have been seriously injured. For its part, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a brief statement confirming the attack and indicating that it will provide more details soon.

The number of fatalities in the Jenin camp has increased to twelve during the last day, after the day before Israel also killed six Palestinians, one a minor and three others who were brothers. The armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Ezzeldin al Qassam Brigades, confirmed that four of the deceased were members of the group, one of them a “commander.”

Israel has increased its operations in the West Bank following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and other Palestinian factions, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped. However, already in the previous nine months of 2023 the area had recorded its highest death toll at the hands of Israeli troops to date.

Palestinian authorities have put the death toll at more than 850 since October 7 from operations by Israeli forces and attacks by settlers, while more than 46,700 Palestinians have died from the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip. as the authorities of the enclave, controlled by the Islamist group, have denounced.
