Israel kills one of those responsible for the Hamas air offensive on October 7

MADRID 14 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Armed Forces reported this Monday that they have killed Samer Abu Daqa, head of the air section of the Hamas militias and one of the ‘brains’ of the Hamas air offensive, in an attack dating back to September. on October 7.

Abu Daqa would be one of those responsible for planning the attack with paragliders and drones, key in the attack in which more than a thousand militiamen broke into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip and killed more than 1,200 people and kidnapped some 240, according to the Israeli military statement.

The now deceased was a “key source of knowledge” for the drone and paragliding units of the Palestinian militia and held the position of head of its air operations in October 2023, when the previous person in charge of this area was “eliminated.”

Israel blames Abu Daqa for launching drones into Israeli territory and counting the Israeli military forces and highlights that he was head of Hamas drones until May 2021. He also directed ammunition production and participated in other infrastructure projects of the group.
