Israel intercepts missile launched from Yemen

The Israeli Army has assured this Thursday that it has shot down a missile launched from Yemen, in an attempted attack attributed to the Yemeni Houthi rebels, who have carried out dozens of attacks with drones and missiles in recent months against Israeli territory, if Well, they have not commented on the incident for now.

“Following the alerts that were activated a while ago in central Israel, a missile launched from Yemeni territory has been intercepted and shot down before it crossed into Israel,” reads a brief statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). published on his profile on the social network X.

Likewise, they have explained that the anti-aircraft sirens have been activated “due to the risk of falling fragments due to the interception” of the missile. At the moment, no victims or damages have been reported in relation to this incident.

This same week, the Houthis launched a drone and a “Palestine 2 type” hypersonic ballistic missile towards an “Israeli enemy military target” located in Tel Aviv. Israeli authorities said they had thwarted the attack, although the Yemeni insurgency said the operation had “successfully achieved its objectives.”

The Houthis have carried out dozens of drone and projectile attacks against Israel since the outbreak of conflict in the region following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions.
