July 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported in the early hours of this Wednesday the “successful interception” of five rockets launched from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israel.
“Five launches have been detected from the Gaza Strip into the territory of the State of Israel, air defense systems have successfully intercepted all launches,” the IDF posted on its Twitter account.
In a previous publication, the IDF had announced the activation of an alert in the city of Sderot and around Gaza. No casualties or property damage have been reported.
The launch occurred a few hours after the Israeli Army announced the withdrawal from the West Bank city of Jenin, where it was carrying out a military operation to “erradicate terrorism” from Palestinian militias.
This operation has resulted in at least twelve Palestinian deaths and a hundred wounded, in addition to the death of an Israeli soldier.
