Israel destroys Hezbollah missile launchers in southern Lebanon that had not been neutralized by the Lebanese Army

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this Thursday that they have destroyed missile systems of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah located in southern Lebanon and that they had not been neutralized by the Lebanese Army, as requested by the Israeli authorities. within the framework of the ceasefire agreement.

“As part of the implementation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon, before the attack a request was sent to the Lebanese Army to neutralize the missile launchers that posed a threat to the Israeli rear and our forces,” the IDF detailed in a publication in their social networks.

Thus, the Israeli military authorities have stressed that this attack was only carried out once the regular Lebanese Army “did not respond to the request” presented. “The IDF continues to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel, in accordance with what was agreed in the ceasefire agreement,” he said.

Israel and Hezbollah reached an agreement for a ceasefire at the end of October that stipulates that both the Islamist group and Israeli troops would abandon southern Lebanese territory in favor of the regular Lebanese Army, which must take positions in the area to guarantee the security of northern Israel.

However, both Hezbollah and Israeli authorities have accused each other of breaking the ceasefire.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies linked to Hezbollah. . The attacks on Lebanon have decimated Hezbollah, which has lost its historic leader, Hasan Nasrallah. This war leaves a provisional balance of nearly 4,000 dead and 16,500 injured.
