Israel confirms the death of five other soldiers in southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this Thursday that another five of its soldiers have died in clashes with the Shiite militia party Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, where Israeli troops launched a ground incursion in early October into the framework of its total offensive against the Islamist group.

Israeli military authorities have detailed that four of the deceased were reservists called up after the outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East. Specifically, it is non-commissioned officer Mordechai Haim Amoyal; Sergeants Major Shmuel Harari and Shlomo Avid, and First Sergeant Shuvale Ben Natan.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Israeli Army, several Hezbollah militiamen emerged from a tunnel and threw grenades at Israeli troops massing in the area. In addition to the four dead, six other Israeli soldiers were wounded, all of them from the Carmeli brigade.

Later, the Israeli Army reported the death of a fifth soldier, a sergeant first class named Gai Ben-Haroosh, 23, who was commander of the Oketz canine unit of the Pardes Hanna-Karkur council, in the district of Haifa. A reservist from one of the parachute brigades has also been injured.

With these, there are now 24 IDF soldiers killed in southern Lebanon after the start of their ground incursion, initiated within the framework of the total offensive against Hezbollah structures not only in this area, but even in the capital, Beirut. , where a “selective bombing” ended the life of the group’s leader, Hasan Nasrallah.
