Israel claims to dismantle a Hamas cell that was planning an armed attack on civilians and soldiers

Oct. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Israel’s Intelligence and Internal Security services, the Shin Bet, said Wednesday that they had dismantled a cell of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the West Bank, which planned to carry out a series of armed attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers.

The Shin Bet has reported that this operation has been carried out in recent weeks and as a result four Palestinian citizens have been arrested, who had orders from Hamas to attack in the Gaza Strip.

According to intelligence services, these four people were in contact with Belal Basharat, a Hamas member who was released from prison in 2011 during an exchange of Palestinian prisoners for former Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, the newspaper reported. ‘Times of Israel’.

Among the four arrested is Basharat’s brother-in-law, Aslam Tubasi, 26. The Shin Bet notes that Basharat ordered these four people to buy firearms and plan an attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers.
