Israel bombs 'terrorist squad' in southern Lebanon

June 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Armed Forces reported this Sunday that they have again bombed Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, specifically they have attacked a “terrorist squad” that was launching projectiles at Israeli planes that regularly fly over the area.

“The Israel Defense Forces have eliminated a terrorist squadron that launched anti-aircraft missiles against combat aircraft operating in the Lebanese skies,” explains the military statement released on social networks.

The projectiles were launched on Sunday morning, although “the planes were not in danger and there were no victims.” Minutes later, an Air Force plane attacked the Tsur area and “eliminated the terrorist squad that was carrying out the launches.”

Hezbollah has reported the launch of surface-to-air projectiles against an Israeli F-15 fighter and drone attacks against the headquarters of an artillery battalion in Odem. The plane “was forced to flee,” according to Lebanese television Al Mayadin.

Later, Air Force fighter jets under the direction of the 210th Division attacked a Hezbollah military structure in the Sheba area, according to the Israeli military statement. Two other military buildings have been attacked by aircraft in Itatron and Merkaba. A military structure in Jula has also been attacked.
