September 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli army said on Friday that it had bombed more than 15 “rocket launchers” allegedly belonging to the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah in a series of attacks carried out in recent hours against southern Lebanon.
“Air Force fighter jets, under the direction of the Northern Command, attacked more than 15 launch vehicles and military infrastructure of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon in the last hour,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on its social media account X.
According to the IDF, some of the launchers were “ready” to attack Israeli soil “immediately.” “Rockets were identified that left the launchers and fell on Lebanese territory,” they explained in the same message accompanied by images.
The bombing took place in the Bint Jbeil hunting valley, according to information collected by the Lebanese newspaper ‘L’Orient-Le Jour’. Sources have confirmed to this newspaper that the Israeli air force attacked in a period of “less than half an hour” this area located between the towns of Froun, Ghandouriyé and Srifa, causing fires in an area of abundant vegetation.
Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, which has significant military and political clout in Lebanon, have intensified in recent weeks, in the wake of the fighting that erupted after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions, which has raised fears of the possibility of an expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
