September 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli army on Monday carried out new attacks against “military buildings” and “rocket launchers” of the Shiite militia party Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, with no reports of casualties so far.
“During the night, fighter jets and helicopters attacked military buildings and a Hezbollah launch pad in the areas of Kafarkila, Al Taiba, Hanin and Yarin in southern Lebanon,” the Israeli military said in a statement posted on its website.
The Syrian government also confirmed that on Sunday it bombed a Hezbollah “military structure” in the Jarbat Salem area, also in southern Lebanon.
Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah, which has significant military and political clout in Lebanon, have intensified in recent weeks, in the wake of the fighting that erupted after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions, which has raised fears of the possibility of an expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
