Israel authorizes the export of Israeli products to Gaza for the first time since the Hamas attacks

May 30. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli authorities authorized this Thursday the sale of Israeli products to Palestinians in Gaza, for which they have withdrawn for the first time the import ban adopted since the offensive against the Strip began after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Thus, the Government has given its approval to the measure, which will allow Gazans to resume importing goods from suppliers located in Israel and the West Bank, as before the start of the offensive.

Gazan merchants will be able to import fresh products, vegetables, meat and dairy products, with a view to diversifying the food that enters the area and that cannot be distributed through international aid to the enclave, according to information from the newspaper ‘Haaretz’.

Israel has recently had to face increased pressure from the international community due to its attacks on the city of Rafah, where a very important border crossing is located, precisely for the entry of humanitarian aid from Egypt. Numerous organizations have urged the country to take measures to reduce the humanitarian crisis in the face of warnings about possible famine.
