The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out this Wednesday an attack against an observation post of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip after finding an explosive device placed in the path of the troops next to the fence located at the border
The Israeli Army, which detonated the device, has indicated in a statement that they have carried out a bombardment in retaliation for what happened, although no military was injured.
As explained by the IDF, the troops were carrying out “routine operations” on the western side of the fence, built in Israeli territory, when they detected the device, as reported by the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.
In order to carry out the attack, the Israeli authorities have asked farmers in the area to temporarily evacuate the area. The attack in question occurred hours after the Army warned of a “failed” launch of a rocket from the Gaza Strip and into Israeli territory.
