Israel attacks a school in the central Gaza Strip allegedly used by Hamas members

September 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Armed Forces have attacked a school located in the central Gaza Strip that was allegedly used by members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to “plan and carry out terrorist operations against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the State of Israel.”

According to a statement issued by the IDF on Sunday, Air Force combat helicopters “targeted Hamas terrorists” at the Khaled Ben Alolid school with intelligence guidance. “We took many measures to reduce the possibility of harming civilians,” they said.

They also said that “Hamas systematically violates international law, brutally using civilian institutions and the population as human shields for terrorist acts.” “The IDF will continue to act with force and determination against terrorist organizations,” they concluded.

The Israeli army launched an offensive against Gaza following the attacks on October 7, which left nearly 1,200 people dead and around 250 kidnapped. Since then, Gazan authorities have reported more than 41,400 Palestinians killed in the enclave, in addition to more than 700 Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces and in attacks by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since that date.
