The Israeli health authorities have announced this Friday that passengers from China must present a negative coronavirus test carried out a maximum of 72 hours before boarding.
The recently appointed Minister of Health, Aryeh Deri, has ordered this preventive measure after holding a meeting with some of the main health policy makers in the country, as reported by the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’.
Likewise, the Israeli authorities have decided to establish voluntary sampling points for Israelis and foreigners from China at Ben Gurion International Airport, the country’s main airfield and located on the outskirts of the city of Tel Aviv.
Along with this battery of measures, Minister Deri has also recommended that the Israeli population avoid traveling to China as much as possible, the protagonist of the latest controversy in health matters on account of the recent announcement of the opening of borders.
The explosion of COVID-19 cases in China, derived precisely from the withdrawal of a large part of the restrictions imposed throughout the pandemic, has generated worldwide concern and has led to the imposition in several countries, including Spain, of new controls for travelers from the Asian giant.
