F-16 fighter jets hit an Islamic State hideout in the Zagaitun Valley and killed the organization’s “administrative assistant” in the province, Abu Jawar, and the Islamic State’s communications officer there, Abu Hudhaifa, among them. others.

“The hideout was completely destroyed, and light and medium-range weapons, as well as explosive belts, were also later seized,” according to a statement from the Directorate of Military Intelligence.

“Following the attack, a combined force from the 63rd Special Forces Brigade Battalion and the 11th Division Reconnaissance Battalion searched the scene, confirming the death of all five militants.”

Although the Islamic State lost its territorial dominance in Iraq in 2017, the group remains active, particularly in Kirkuk, where it employs guerrilla tactics such as bombings and kidnappings. Iraqi security forces, with the support of the Global Coalition, have intensified their efforts to neutralize what remains of the group.
