Iran’s supreme leader vows to ‘break Israel’s jaw’ in response to October attack

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has vowed that his country will “break the jaws” of Israel and the United States when it responds to the Israeli attack on the country that occurred last week, the latest episode of cross-border bombings between the two regional enemies in the framework of the Gaza war.

“Our enemies, whether the Zionist regime or America, will most certainly receive a jaw-breaking response for everything they are doing to Iran and the axis of resistance,” the country’s grand ayatollah said during a commemoration of the storming of the United States Embassy during the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

The resistance axis is the term used by Tehran to describe its alliance with groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon or Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“It is about fighting against international cruelty. For the Iranian nation, inspired by the teachings of Islam, confronting cruelty is a religious duty,” Khamenei added during his appearance, reported by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
