The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, decorated this Sunday the commander of the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard, Amiralí Hayizadé, for his “exceptional” role in the massive missile attack carried out at the beginning of last week against Israel

“General Hayizadé has received this medal in recognition of his exceptional performance during Operation ‘True Promise II’. The ‘Order of Victory’ has been chosen as a symbol of the triumphant operations carried out by the soldiers of Islam and the victors in these operations,” reads a statement published on Khamenei’s official website.

This decoration is one of the most prestigious awarded in the Islamic Republic and consists of three golden leaves with the flag of Iran at its base and the word ‘Fath’ (victory, translated from Persian) in the center of it. and which hangs from a ribbon with the colors white, green and red, in the center of which is a golden Iranian national emblem.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard highlighted after the attack that 90 percent of the missiles launched within the framework of Operation True Promise II successfully reached their targets, including “Israeli strategic centers”, radar bases and facilities of organizations involved. in the attacks that resulted in the death of the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniye, and the general secretary of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hasan Nasrallah.

Although the Israeli Army confirmed that several of its air bases were hit in the attack, it has denied significant damage and has stated that there were no hits against planes or weapons warehouses. However, he has refused to give details on the percentage of interceptions with the aim of “avoiding giving Iran and Hezbollah information that would help them learn lessons.”

The attacks also came hours after Israel announced the start of an invasion of Lebanon after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah, unleashed following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and other Palestinian factions. In response to these assaults, Israel launched a bloody offensive against Gaza. The spike in tensions has raised fears of a full-scale war in the region.
