September 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

An Iranian lawmaker, Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, has suggested that a bomb-seeking device, like those used against the Shiite militia party Hezbollah in Lebanon, could have caused the crash of the helicopter in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died.

Ardestani has revealed that Iran has purchased the same pagers that Hezbollah acquired and which have caused 40 deaths and nearly 3,000 injuries in the past week, according to a post on X by Iranian journalist Mohamad Ahwaze, who lives in Europe.

Ardestani also stressed that Hezbollah had been hacked and that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi “was also using the pager,” according to Ahwaze, who added that “the serious helicopter crash could be the result of the explosion of his pager.” Ardestani is a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Raisi died on May 19 when his helicopter crashed in northern Iran in “difficult” weather conditions, particularly dense fog, according to the official investigation, which ruled out any act of sabotage. Seven other people died in the accident, including Foreign Minister Hosein Amirabdolahian.
