Iranian Justice sentences a man to death for the death of Kian Pirfalak

7 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Iranian Justice has sentenced Abbas Korkuri to death, accused of being behind the death of Kian Pirfalak, a ten-year-old boy who died during a shooting in the context of violent anti-government protests in Izeh, in the province of Khuzestan .

Korkuri has been sentenced during a session held in a court in Ahvaz, the provincial capital, on charges related to the use of weapons with the intent of murder, damage to public property or membership of a rebel group, among others, reported the Mizan judicial news agency.

However, both the mother, Zainab Moulairad, and the uncle, Sajjad Pirflek, have previously claimed that Korkuri was not at the scene of the shooting and these allegations are a fabricated scenario by Iranian security forces, who attacked the car at the scene. that the minor was traveling with his father, who was seriously injured.

The Iranian authorities then claimed that unidentified men, suspected “terrorists”, fired on protesters who were gathered near a local market in Izeh, killing seven people, including a woman and another thirteen-year-old boy, and wounding many others, including police officers and members of the Basij paramilitary force.

The protests erupted in September 2022. Thousands of people demonstrated in Iran to defy the strict dress regulations imposed by the ayatollahs, after the young Mahsa Amini died in police stations after being arrested for allegedly wearing the veil incorrectly.
