The head of the Iranian Police, Ahmad Reza Radan, has informed that from Saturday the implementation of the “chastity and hijab” plan will begin, which will reimpose the use of the veil with the help of surveillance cameras.

Just a week ago, the Iranian Police announced that it was going to install cameras and other “intelligent means” to avoid “tension” and “conflict” over the application of the law that requires the use of the hijab or Islamic veil.

“The Police will use innovative tools and smart cameras on public roads to avoid any tension and conflict with compatriots related to the hijab law to identify people who violate the Hijab and Public Chastity Law,” the Police explained in a statement. statement picked up by the Iranian news agency Mizan and the US radio station in Farsi Radio Farda, a subsidiary of Radio Liberty.

These cameras will initially be used to send “warning messages” to those who violate their prerogatives and “warn them of the legal consequences of repeating this crime.”

However, one of the most radical members of the Farvardin Islamic Council, Hossein Yalali, warned of financial penalties, withdrawal of driving licence, passport or Internet service within the so-called Afaf and Hijab plan.
