Iran summons Ukraine's charge d'affaires after explosions at arms warehouse in Isfahan

Tehran protests a few words from the adviser to the Ukrainian Presidency about the incident

The Government of Iran has summoned the charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Tehran on Monday due to kyiv’s comments after the alleged drone attack against a military installation in the province of Isfahan (center).

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the charge d’affaires has been summoned to explain the statements of the adviser to the Ukrainian Presidency, Mikhailo Podoliak, about what happened, as reported by the Iranian television channel Press TV.

Podoliak posted a message on his Twitter account on Sunday in which he joked about an “explosive night in Iran.” “We warned you,” he added, amid kyiv’s accusations against Tehran for delivering drones to Russia as part of the invasion.

The Iranian authorities denounced on Saturday a drone attack against an ammunition warehouse in Isfahan, after which US military sources quoted by ‘The Wall Street Journal’ suggested that the event would be the work of Israeli drones.

According to these sources, the target was a munitions factory located next to facilities of the Iranian Space Research Center, an organization sanctioned by the United States for its work with ballistic missiles. Israel has not yet ruled on what happened.
