Iran successfully launches its second satellite into high orbital altitude

September 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Iranian authorities announced on Saturday the successful launch of their second satellite to an orbital altitude of 550 kilometers, a move that comes nine months after their first launch of this type, which was a record for the country’s aerospace industry.

The Chamran 1 research satellite has been launched by the Qaim 100 launch vehicle and placed into orbit. It was designed and built by Iran’s Space Electronics Industries Group (Sairan) with the cooperation and participation of the Aerospace Research Institute and private companies Danesh Banyan, IRNA news agency reported.

The device, which has already sent its first signals, weighs about 60 kilograms and its main mission is to test hardware and software systems to test orbital maneuvering technology.
