Iran "strongly" denies being behind the attack on Netanyahu's residence and blames Hezbollah

MADRID 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations has assured this Sunday that Tehran has had no relationship with the drone attack carried out the day before against the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “strongly” rejecting the accusations of the Jewish State.

“We have already responded to the Israeli regime,” the mission stated in response to a question collected by the IRNA news agency about Israel’s statements pointing to the Islamic Republic as the author of the attack.

The mission has assured that it is the Hezbollah militia party that is behind the attack with a drone against Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea, in the center of the country, which has left no victims.

“This action was carried out by the Lebanese Hezbollah,” the mission declared even though the Shiite group has not yet commented on the matter.

These statements come after Israeli authorities have blamed “Iran’s agents” for the failed attack, in what they consider to be retaliation for the death this week of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar at the hands of the Israeli Army.

For his part, the Foreign Minister of the Hebrew State, Israel Katz, has already rejected Iran’s statements blaming Hezbollah for the attack: “The main proxy, the tentacle that Iran created, financed, armed, trained and now controls in all its operations, suddenly presents itself as an independent entity. Your lies and false pretenses will not help you: you are responsible,” he said on his X social network account.
