Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, stressed this Tuesday that Tehran will respond in a “precise” and “calculated” manner to the bombings carried out against the country at the end of October, before insisting that the country “is not seeking an increase of tensions” in the Middle East.
“We will respond to Israeli aggression at the right time and in a calculated and precise manner,” he said during an official visit to Pakistan, from where he indicated that “the Israeli regime showed its warmongering and aggressive nature” with its bombings on 26 October.
Thus, Araqchi has maintained that “unlike the Zionist regime, the Islamic Republic (of Iran) does not seek to increase tensions,” although he has insisted that Tehran “reserves its fundamental right to self-defense,” as reported. the Iranian television network Press TV.
The Israeli Army carried out the aforementioned bombings, which resulted in the death of four soldiers and one civilian, within the framework of an operation that it presented as a response to the Iranian air attacks launched against the country on October 1, in which they were about 180 ballistic missiles were fired.
The Iranian attacks on Israel were described by Tehran as a response to the deaths of several leaders of armed groups allied to Tehran in the region. The Israeli Army confirmed that several of its air bases were hit, although it denied significant damage and refused to give details on the percentage of interceptions.
On the other hand, Araqchi has reiterated his call to confront Israel’s “crimes” in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and has stressed that “Muslim countries are working hard to address this crisis”, ahead of the next meeting that will be held by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in which the situation in the region will be addressed.
In this way, he stressed that this summit “will try to find a solution to put an end to Israeli crimes and reduce the suffering of the population in Gaza and Lebanon, especially given the approach of winter, which will increase difficulties and suffering.” of displaced persons and refugees”.
