Jan. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of Iran has affirmed this Monday that it is “fully prepared” to achieve the reactivation of the 2015 nuclear agreement and has emphasized that “the ball is in the court of the West”.
“Iran is fully prepared to conclude the negotiations in Vienna based on the draft negotiations, which is the result of months of tough and intensive negotiations,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Naser Kanani said.
Likewise, he has pointed to a “consensus” on the continuation of contacts to try to reach an agreement, while stressing that to achieve this “political decisions” are necessary on the part of Western countries, from which he has asked “a position constructive and realistic.
“We emphasize that if Western countries believe that they can achieve more concessions in the negotiations on the withdrawal of sanctions through political pressure and the psychological and propaganda field, they are wrong,” he stressed, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim. .
In this sense, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri Kani, has stated that the talks are not at a standstill and has stated that Tehran continues to work to achieve the withdrawal of sanctions imposed by the United States since 2018.
Kani has also pointed out that Tehran fully cooperates with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as an “effective and responsible member” of the organization and a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), as reported by the news agency. Mehr.
The remarks by Kanani and Kani come less than a week after Iran’s Foreign Minister Hosein Amirabdolahian warned that the “window of opportunity” to get the 2015 nuclear deal revived will not be open “forever.”
