July 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced this Saturday the dismantling of a network of spies working for the Mossad, the Israeli secret services.
According to the statement, collected by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA, the agents were sent to Iran to “commit terrorist attacks”, but “all of them were identified and arrested before they could carry out acts of sabotage”.
The prisoners were in contact with the Mossad through one of Iran’s neighboring countries and entered the country through the Kurdistan region and had modern telecommunications and operational equipment, as well as powerful explosives.
With them they intended to perpetrate “unprecedented acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks” in “sensitive locations.”
Possible contacts of the detainees inside and outside the country are now being investigated.
