Iran has continued to increase its arsenal of enriched uranium in recent months, but has committed to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) not to raise the material available to a purity level of 60 percent, a key threshold for potential obtaining. of atomic weapons.
Agency experts have confirmed on the ground that the Iranian authorities have begun to apply measures apparently “aimed at curbing the increase in their arsenal,” according to a twelve-page report to which the Blooomberg news agency has had access.
The director general of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, who this month visited Tehran and was able to meet with several authorities, including President Masud Pezeshkian, has stressed that the apparent self-imposed limit in Iran “would be important” with a view to restoring trust between the parties, seriously damaged in recent years.

The Iranian authorities still have enough fuel to produce several nuclear warheads, according to the IAEA report, the last on this issue to be released before Trump returns to the White House on January 20.
