MADRID 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Iran’s diplomatic representation at the UN has warned in a letter addressed to the organization’s top official, its secretary general, António Guterres, that the US president, Joe Biden, will also be responsible for any aggression after the US president acknowledged that he knows when and how Israel will attack Iran.
“These inflammatory statements are deeply worrying, as they point to the tacit approval and explicit support of the United States for an illegal Israeli military aggression against Iran,” says the letter addressed to Guterres and collected by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
“The United States will be fully responsible for instigating, inciting and enabling any act of aggression by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran in flagrant violation of the principles of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, including the principle of the prohibition of the use of force in accordance with Article 2.4 of the Charter,” he argues.
Tehran recalls that shortly after Biden’s statements, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that “anyone who knows how and when Israel will attack Iran and/or provides the means and support for such folly, should logically be responsible for any possible victim.”
Biden told reporters last week during a visit to Berlin that he had information about how and when Israel would attack Iran in response to the launch of missiles from Israeli territory.
