The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has assured this Monday that it has carried out new attacks with artillery and drones against positions of “terrorist groups” in the semi-autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, without at the moment there being information on victims.

The mayor of the Iraqi city of Sidakan, Ihsan Chalabi, has confirmed the impact of several artillery shells, as reported by the Kurdish television channel Rudaw, which has indicated that so far there is no information on deaths or injuries.
The Iranian authorities have stated that these attacks come in response to alleged attempts by “terrorist groups” to incite protests in the country in the context of the mobilizations for the death of a woman detained in Tehran for wearing the veil incorrectly.
In this regard, the Revolutionary Guards stressed on Saturday that “Iranian forces have given a decisive response to the aggression of recent days by counterrevolutionary terrorist groups against the border and several border bases.”
