Iran begins maneuvers in various areas of the country to strengthen its air defense

28 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Iranian Army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard have begun joint maneuvers on Tuesday in various areas of the country to reinforce air defense capabilities, as confirmed by the authorities.

The maneuvers, called ‘Modafean Aseman Velayat 1401’, include the use of air defense systems, radars, electronic warfare systems and communication systems, as reported by the Iranian news agency Mehr.

The spokesman for the maneuvers, Amirabas Farajpur, has outlined that the main objective of these activities is to “improve defenses against enemy threats against the skies of the country” and develop the “vital centers” of the Iranian security apparatus.

Likewise, he has stressed that these maneuvers are part of “the principles of passive defense” and has detailed that they are being carried out in areas that cover two thirds of the airspace of the Central Asian country.
