June 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Iranian government has expressed this Saturday its support for the validity of the “rule of law” in Russia in response to information about the rebellion of the Wagner mercenary group.

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Naser Kanani, has stressed in any case that what is happening in the country is an “internal issue”.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the rule of law in the Russian Federation,” Nanani said in statements reported by Iranian public media.

Media related to the Iranian authorities have highlighted that Wagner “does not have the minimum capacity necessary to challenge the Russian Armed Forces”, although they have warned of the “devastating psychological consequences” of Wagner’s rebellion.

Iran has veiledly supported Russia in the armed conflict in Ukraine by supplying Moscow with war material, such as the Shahed suicide drones.
