10 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Iranian authorities reported this Friday the arrest of those allegedly responsible for the drone attack carried out in January against an explosives warehouse in the Iranian city of Ishafan, for which Iran holds Israel directly responsible.
“The involvement of elements of the Zionist regime has been proven,” the Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence Office of the Revolutionary Guard have ruled in a joint statement in which they have not given details of the operation pending new investigations.
Tehran, which attributes the January 28 attack to the alleged “desperation” of the Israeli authorities over Palestinian pressure, reserves the right to take action over what it considers a violation of its national sovereignty.
The Iranian government has however claimed that the drone attack on a Defense Ministry compound failed and caused only slight material damage to the roof. According to his version, one of the three aircraft was shot down by the defense systems of the facilities themselves, while the other two exploded without reaching their destination.
