Iran and Belarus sign a new "road map" of cooperation for the next three years

The presidents of Iran and Belarus, Ebrahim Raisi and Alexander Lukashenko, respectively, have signed a cooperation “road map” for the next three years, a document that began to take shape on the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in 2021.

“You can trust us,” Lukashenko said after signing these agreements on Monday in Tehran, the Iranian capital. The document includes measures for political and economic cooperation, but also in the areas of education, science, culture, the media and tourism, details the BelTA agency.

“It is gratifying that we have similar positions and approaches on many issues on the international agenda. The main thing is that Belarus and Iran are committed to the idea of ​​building a just multipolar world,” Lukashenko said.

Since Iran and Belarus are constant targets of Western economic sanctions, both leaders have stressed the need to share their experiences in this regard in view of turning them into “opportunities”, reports the Iranian news agency IRNA.

“The unity between the two countries can help to defuse the sanctions (…) Iran is ready to share its experiences with Belarus,” said Raisi, who has assured that his country has managed to benefit from foreign sanctions by turning them into opportunities for increase economic activity in the country.
