The controversy of the existence of spyware as pegasus, supported and used by governments of several countries for the espionage of users, has made companies like Apple begin to take action on the matter. The apple company has announced a series of measures that will be integrated into iOS 16 to protect iPhone users from these threats.

One of them is called “LockDown Mode”, or “isolated mode”. This is an extreme mode of operation that protects against custom and sophisticated attacks, as was the case with Pegasus. When activated, the iPhone will enter an operating mode that will restrict various functionalities and experiences, limiting the navigation and communication of certain applications to protect the terminal data from unauthorized access.

This way block all attachments in messages, as well as the preview of links and only allows the reception of photographs. In browsing, you can’t use the default JavaScript build-in, you won’t be able to receive FaceTime invites either.

Even physical connections to computers are restricted when the iPhone or device is locked, and you can’t install configuration profiles or manage mobile devices in this mode.
