IO Interactive, a studio widely known for the Hitman franchise, announces that it is working on a new intellectual property in the form of an online fantasy RPG. The game still has no name or hardly any details, so it’s time to settle for a artwork. This new project is added to that of James Bond and involves the offices that the Danish company has installed in Copenhagen, Malmö and Barcelona.

In its message, IO Interactiva comments that it is creating “a new world, a new intellectual property: an online fantasy role-playing game” built to “expand for many years.” “It feels familiar to us, but at the same time IO embarks on a different journey than any we have done so far,” adds the team. The study also says that for many it is a personal journey that began many years ago, from the beginnings of the fantasy genre with the Fighting Fantasy books to tabletop role-playing games.

“This idea, that a diverse group of characters with different abilities and strengths can work together to become more than the sum of its parts, is what inspires us,” says IO Interactive. “Inspire the fantasy world we’re creating and inspire how we’re creating it.” The message ends with the company encouraging anyone interested to take a look at the job offers it has open to join the project as part of the staff in Copenhagen, Malmö and Barcelona.

There is a possibility that Project Fantasy, as IO Interactive is calling its as yet unnamed new game, is the rumored fantasy RPG set in a medieval world with dragons that the Danish studio is developing for Xbox Game Studios. The rumor appeared in April 2021 and by then there was talk of a project in its early stages of development that still had a lot of work to do.
