After the drop in August, of 1.5% at a monthly rate, investment in Mexico grew again during August,
At a monthly rate, machinery and equipment expenses increased 2.6% and construction expenses increased 0.3%.
With these results, investment grew 4.6% at an annual rate in real terms. While expenses on machinery rose 18.2%.
However, construction expenses maintain a decrease of 5.8%.
According to an analysis by the Monex group, construction spending remains at a level very far from its maximum observed in July 2008, 14 years ago, and is slightly above the levels of 2003.
In July 2008, the construction investment index was 110.3 points, while in August 2022 it reached a level of 94.8 points.
