COURSE OBJECTIVES

General objectives

Provide an introductory analytical, conceptual and instrumental framework that allows a general knowledge of prospective and its basic techniques, taking the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as a central framework, being a first approach to future studies.

Learning objectives

Acquire a basic conceptual, theoretical and methodological framework of prospective and future studies, through knowledge of the basic theories and relevant contemporary experiences of long-term visions.

Know the basic elements of the 2030 Agenda as a global vision of Sustainable Development and show the benefits of foresight as a tool to achieve the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

COURSE DURATION

The course lasts four weeks, totaling 40 academic hours, with an estimated workload of 10 hours per week. It is an asynchronous course, so the activities can be distributed at the discretion of each participant (review of content and participation in forums). However, there will be synchronous instances of a mandatory nature, to promote the exchange of experiences and practices among the participants.

COURSE METHODOLOGY

The course is developed virtually through the online platform of ILPES ECLAC. The course methodology is based on carrying out a set of learning activities organized into weekly modules that include readings, interactive online activities, carrying out applied tasks and participating in group activities.

Course participants will be organized into groups, according to criteria such as nationality or areas of work performance, each group will have a designated tutor, who will be in charge of guiding the development of course activities, as well as responding to to the queries that are generated throughout each week.

Each participant will be able to organize the time dedicated to the course according to their own availability, except for synchronous sessions that have a designated date and time from the beginning of the course. In each module, evaluation and feedback activities are considered, which may consist of tasks (individual or group).

If it is the first application to an ILPES/CEPAL course, the first step will be to register in the system, attaching to your application your Curriculum Vitae and a signed letter of endorsement from your institution, reflecting the importance that the training activity has for that institution. course. The second step is to apply for the course with your username and password. If you are already registered in SIGCA, you only have to enter with your username and password and then apply for the course.

This marks the beginning of the selection process for the applications that will be received until July 1, 2023. Information received after this date will not be considered in the selection process. Between June 1 and 4, 2023, confirmation of acceptance to the course will be sent via email by the selection committee to those who have been selected. People who have received this email must confirm their participation in the course before July 5, 2023.

The non-confirmation of participation will lead to integrate more applicants who meet the requirements to participate in the course.
