Technology is not yet widespread. Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) Image Scaling. It has now been made compatible via a plugin with the game engine Unreal Enginethis will allow developers who use this engine for their games, add Intel image scaling technology in a very simple way. This plugin can be used with different versions of Unreal Engine, including the most recent 5.0.
Specifically, it is compatible with Unreal Engine 4.0, 4.26 and 5.0 which are available together for download. This add-on also not only allows the use of Intel XeSS on its own brand graphics cards, but also supports NVIDIA and AMDalthough thanks to Intel Arc XMX dedicated enginesthis technology works much better with your cards.
Intel has already specified that adding its XeSS technology to games it’s as simple as adding AMD FSR 2.0 which is also available as an add-on for Epic’s engine. In a while we will see if this action to launch this plugin with support for Intel XeSS in Unreal Engine ends up in many more titles that include this technology as an alternative or in conjunction with existing ones AMD and NVIDIA.
