Intel to build custom AI and Xeon 6 chips for Amazon AWS



Intel and Amazon have reached a collaboration agreement under which both companies will jointly invest in the development of custom chips for the AWS server services of the online retail giant. The agreement will be in effect for several years and will involve an investment of “billions of dollars.”

In return, new custom processors tailored to the needs of Amazon AWS servers will emerge. There will be a custom chip based on the new ones Intel Xeon 6also known by the code name “Granite Rapids” and manufactured on the Intel 3.
