Intel releases performance update for Arrow Lake and announces new patch for January

The performance problems exhibited by Arrow Lake are already being addressed by Intel in a tangible way. After announcing last November the development of some kind of update aimed at improving the FPS rates of processors that arrived with much lower performance than those announced, the manufacturer has released a first patch to correct this situation.

According to Intel in its statement, the patch for the Core Ultra 200S processors will provide “a significant performance increase”, to the point that, in theory, once updated they should perform as much as in the company’s internal benchmarks.

According to information provided by Intel, Arrow Lake left the production lines with bugs that altered the schedulingintermittently increased DRAM latency, reduced performance with certain Windows 11 updates, and caused serious stability issues related to the Epic Games anti-cheat driver.

The set of these defects was disastrous, to the point that Arrow Lake performs less at launch than the equivalent chips of the previous generation, when Intel promised improvements of up to 14% in multicore processes.

Fortunately, these shortcomings have been resolved completely (or almost) with the December patch, which is actually not one, but two: a new BIOS for the motherboards and changes to the operating system that will be distributed in the form of an update. Windows.

Arrow Lake should be fully patched by early next year.
