Recently Instagram integrated a function in the social network that allowed you to set up paid subscriptions with advantages over standard subscriptions, as well as other ways to monetize our accounts. To provide more value to these types of subscriptions, the company has launched a new feature for creators.
This new feature is based on what we have already seen many times on other networks like Patreonwhere in exchange for a monthly payment in the form of a subscription, we can access additional content that free users can seealthough in this case, free and paid users coexist in the same application.
Subscriptions can range from $0.99 to $99.99, and users who subscribe through this scheme will receive a purple icon that identifies them as paying subscribers within that specific creator’s profileas a sample of the support offered.
Another news announced today is that paying subscribers will be able to chat with each other in group DMs of up to 30 users, something that can work well on small profiles, but definitely It will not be very useful in the case of larger profiles with hundreds or thousands of subscribers, for which networks such as Discord are often used.
